Teams
The Teams tab is used to organize permanent or frequent workgroups. Instead of selecting professionals one by one for every service, you can create a "Surgical Team" or a "Diagnostic Team" and assign it directly to a service.
Team Management Overview
The main screen displays cards for each existing team:
Team card information
Each card shows:
- Team name and a brief description
- Member tags with the names of professionals in the group
- Actions:
- Edit (pencil icon): Add or remove members from an existing team
- Delete (trash icon): Remove the team from the system
Deleting a team only removes the grouping. It does not delete the individual professionals. They remain available in the system and can be assigned to other teams or services.
Creating a New Team
Click "+ Create Team" (Crear Equipo) to open the configuration modal:
Required fields
- Name: Give the team a clear, descriptive name (e.g., "Surgery Team A", "Diagnostic Unit B", "Pediatrics Group").
Optional fields
- Description: Internal notes about the team's purpose, common procedures, or coordination guidelines.
Adding members
- Click "+ Add Member" (Agregar Miembro).
- Use the dropdown to select a professional from the list of active providers.
- Repeat to add as many members as the practice requires.
Use consistent naming conventions for teams (e.g., "Surgery Team A", "Surgery Team B") so they are easy to find in filters and service configuration dropdowns.
Relationship with Services
Teams become most powerful when linked to services:
- Navigate to the Services tab.
- Create or edit a service and set its type to "Team".
- Select the appropriate team from the dropdown.
This saves significant time when configuring multi-provider services and prevents errors when assigning staff to complex procedures. Instead of manually selecting each professional every time, you assign the pre-built team in one step.
Common Team Patterns
| Team Type | Example Members | Use Case |
|---|---|---|
| Surgical | Surgeon, Anesthesiologist, Nurse | Operating room procedures |
| Diagnostic | Radiologist, Technician | Imaging and lab services |
| Shift-based | Morning reception staff | Coordinating coverage across shifts |
| Specialty | Multiple cardiologists | Routing patients to any available specialist |
Best Practices
- Create teams for any service that regularly involves the same group of providers. This reduces configuration time and booking errors.
- Review team membership when providers join or leave the clinic to keep assignments current.
- Use the description field to document the team's purpose and any special coordination notes.
- Avoid creating teams with a single member. Use individual provider assignment instead to keep the system clean.
