Provider Guide

Who this guide is for

This guide is designed for healthcare professionals (doctors, specialists, therapists) who use Turno to manage their daily patient flow. It covers everything you need to know to stay on top of your schedule without touching clinic-level configuration.

As a provider, your primary interface consists of three modules:

ModulePurpose
DashboardYour daily command center with key indicators, notifications, and today's patient list
Calendar & AppointmentsFull schedule control with status management and staff coordination
UpdatesChronological feed of every change to your schedule

Core daily workflow

Follow this sequence each day for optimal efficiency:

  1. Start with Dashboard -- Review your daily indicators (total appointments, weekly outlook, next patient countdown) and check the notification bell for any staff messages.
  2. Work from Calendar -- As patients arrive, update appointment statuses (Arrived, Completed, No-Show). Use Request Action when you need administrative support without leaving your workspace.
  3. Check Updates -- Review the timeline for any recent schedule changes, cancellations, or new bookings you may have missed.
Daily habit

Check the notification bell regularly throughout the day. Staff can send you real-time patient updates such as late arrivals or special requests, and a "Nueva" badge will alert you to unread messages.

Collaboration with administrative staff

Turno draws a clear boundary between provider actions and administrative tasks. You can:

  • Self-manage squeeze-ins, attendance statuses, and patient profile notes
  • Request cancellations, reschedules, or note updates through the system

When a change requires administrative execution, always use the Request Action button. This creates a documented trail of who requested the change and why, preventing miscommunication between providers and front-desk staff.

Document privacy and compliance

One of Turno's key benefits is that you can view patient documents (medical records, IDs, lab results) directly within the platform. This means you never need to download sensitive data onto personal devices, keeping you compliant with data privacy standards and saving storage space on your phone or computer.
